Kusova (“we,” “us,” or “the app”) is a hair recovery tracking application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We take your privacy seriously, particularly because the app handles personal photos and hair-health information.
Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide the app’s features:
Account information: the email address you use to create an account. If you use Sign in with Apple, we receive the identifier Apple provides and never see your Apple password.
Photos: the scalp and hair photos you choose to capture during a scan. These are used to generate your hair-health analysis and to track changes over time.
Hair-health and tracking data: the analysis results generated from your photos such as zone scores and trend information, your daily treatment check-ins, your streak history, and the goals and preferences you enter during onboarding.
Diagnostic data: if the app crashes, we may collect technical crash information to help us fix problems. We take steps to avoid including personal or health information in these reports.
How We Use Your Information
To generate your hair-health analysis and show your progress over time.
To personalize your experience, including reminders and coaching messages.
To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
To respond to your requests and provide support.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos or health data for advertising.
How Your Photos Are Analyzed
To generate your analysis, your scan photos are securely transmitted to a third-party artificial intelligence provider that processes the images and returns results to the app. This processing happens over encrypted connections. Your photos are sent only for the purpose of generating your analysis.
How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your data is stored using Supabase, our backend and database provider, on secured servers.
Your photos are stored in a private storage location and are accessed only through temporary, expiring secure links.
Database access is restricted so that each user can only access their own data.
All communication between the app and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS.
Sign-in session tokens are stored securely on your device.
No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
Data Sharing
We share data only with the service providers that make the app function:
Supabase for authentication, database, and storage.
Our AI analysis provider for image processing to generate your results.
Crash reporting to diagnose technical problems.
These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your associated data including your check-in logs, analysis results, photos, scan sessions, and profile is deleted from our systems.
Your Choices and Rights
Account deletion: you can delete your account and associated data from within the app.
Access and correction: you can view and update your information in the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. Contact us to exercise them.
Children’s Privacy
Kusova is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Medical Disclaimer
Kusova is a personal tracking tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Its analysis is for informational and tracking purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical care. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider about any medical concern.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Last updated date above.
